If you have not visited your Alma Mater you should to see the changes. There are lot of changes for those who passed out of this Premier Women's College in Vizag some years back. We now have a Fire safety system which can be seen as red color tubes and other accessories in different parts of the facade of the college view posted here.
You can also see that to accommodate the growing number of students there are two staircases on either side of the main building. These two really add to the grandeur of the building and make it look elegant. Those of us alumni who are in the college in various capacities were initially unhappy about these changes but once it was finished we had to agree that it added to the beauty of the college. There is also a stage in front of the building and that makes our assemblies all the more interesting since all the students are visible and no one can hide behind the Asoka trees as they used to in the olden days to avoid the eagle eyes of Sr St Andre, the Principal till 1976.
During summer lot of construction was begun on the campus. A new wing is coming up on the existing hostel again to provide for the burgeoning population of students in the hostel. It is being built on the Southern and Western aspects of the existing hostel building.
I am sure the students flocking to the library will increase in the future since it is being air-conditioned as a value-addition to the infrastructure of the college. Of course all of you may be aware that our college acquired a Reverse Osmosis Water Purifying Plant a year back so that our girls can now get clean and pure water.
The infrastructure of St. Joseph's is being enhanced to benefit the students and staff on campus.
The alumni should definitely visit the college because the staff and others in the college are still as friendly and cordial as in the past! So before all the old faces are replaced by new ones you do not know better visit it !
